Ecopeg polyester wool (free shipping!)

Polyester wool, also known as Thinsulate or PET insulation.

That wonderfully warm winter coat? It contains polyester wool! In other words, excellent insulating material that can take a beating.

Why polyester wool? Although at Hobus we like to work with natural materials, for insulation we prefer a material that is water-repellent and insensitive to vibrations. Polyester wool has a lifespan of at least 50 years and retains its shape under any circumstances, even in a moving vehicle.

Polyester fibers are water-repellent, but a wool structure itself is not. This means that moisture can accumulate between the fibers. Therefore, polyester wool should not be placed in trusses and cavities (you should not put anything there anyway!).

We like to use this insulation in conjunction with Armaflex, as an extra insulating layer, for those hot summers and cold winters.

Ecopeg is an ecological way of insulating, as 2/3 of the raw materials come from recycled PET bottles.

Super easy to process, simply cut to size and ready for use.
