Of course, it's a personal choice. But if you do choose a toilet, choose a dry toilet!
Why? A dry toilet is super convenient, environmentally friendly, lightweight, and doesn't stink! (unless you don't clean your toilet, of course)
With a dry toilet, your urine and, ahem, poop are separated. This allows you to simply pour out your urine every day. If you do this in nature, add some extra water to avoid startling the plants too much.
When you've "done your business," cover it with fine sawdust. The sawdust ensures drying, preventing odors. When the bag in the bucket is full, tie it up and, voilà, into the trash. No more searching for emptying points for your chemical toilet.
